Ayodhya is set to witness a spiritually significant event today with the Dhwajarohan, or flag hoisting ceremony, marking the complete architectural realization of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. This ancient tradition symbolizes the temple’s full spiritual activation and the establishment of ‘Ram Rajya’. The saffron flag, a powerful emblem of Lord Ram’s sovereignty, will be hoisted during a sacred 44-minute window. Ayodhya has been transformed into a spectacle of devotion, adorned with vibrant lights and giant cutouts of Lord Ram and Sita, culminating in a mesmerizing laser show depicting divine tales on the temple’s spire. The flag’s placement atop the spire is deeply rooted in ancient scriptures, signifying the deity’s presence, divine power, and protection over the sacred grounds. This ceremony officially declares the temple’s completion. The auspicious timing, chosen for November 25th, coincides with Vivah Panchami, the anniversary of Lord Ram and Sita’s wedding. The precise moment for the Dhwajarohan is the Abhijeet Muhurat, from 11:45 AM to 12:29 PM IST, a period revered as the most propitious for sacred rituals and historically linked to Lord Ram’s birth. The custom-designed saffron flag, measuring 22×11 feet, will be unfurled on a 42-foot pole atop the main spire. It bears three sacred symbols: the Sun (Surya) representing the Suryavansh lineage, ‘Om’ symbolizing life force, and the Kovidar Vriksha, a divine tree linked to Raghuvansh kings, signifying purity and the ideals of Ram Rajya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the ceremony, following a detailed schedule of temple visits and prayers.
