A significant medico-legal awareness and medical check-up camp was organized for senior citizens residing at the old age home in Jhumritilaiya, Koderma. This event was conducted under the guidance of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, by the District Legal Services Authority, Koderma. The camp aimed to educate elderly residents about their legal rights and provide essential health services.

During the event, attendees virtually observed an online ceremony from Ranchi. This ceremony, initiated by the Executive Chairman of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, involved the inauguration of Mother Teresa Clinic at an old age home in Nagri, Ranchi. It also marked the distribution of medical facilities and benefits from other welfare schemes to the senior citizens residing there.

The Chief Guest, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Bal Krishna Tiwari, emphasized the moral duty of all citizens to respect the elderly. He assured that the District Legal Services Authority is committed to ensuring that the rights of senior citizens are not violated and their fundamental rights are protected. Tiwari added that true progress cannot be achieved without respecting elders and that the authority feels honored to serve them.

He further urged the younger generation to respect their elders, adopt their guidance, and be attentive to their needs. Gautam Kumar, Secretary of the Authority, stated that the District Legal Services Authority is always ready to provide free legal aid to protect the rights and entitlements of the elderly. He pledged to do everything possible to ensure the comfort and well-being of residents in the old age home.

The Health Department of Koderma conducted medical examinations for all elderly residents. The Principal District Judge instructed the attending doctors and healthcare staff to regularly monitor the health of all seniors and ensure they receive necessary medications. He also personally met with the residents, inquired about their well-being, and inspected the overall arrangements at the facility.

In a gesture of support, the District Legal Services Authority and the District Administration jointly distributed essential items, including blankets, shawls, caps, woolen clothing, sweets, and other necessities, to the senior citizens.
