India has launched its first mobile, AI-powered anti-drone patrol vehicle, the Indrajaal Ranger, a significant advancement in national security. This innovative system, developed by Indrajaal Drone Defence, is designed to detect and neutralize aerial threats with remarkable range and efficiency. The vehicle can identify drones up to 10 kilometers away while on the move and neutralize them from a distance of 4 kilometers, addressing critical security gaps.

The growing misuse of drones for smuggling contraband, weapons, and explosives, as well as for surveillance, poses a significant challenge. The Indrajaal Ranger is engineered to combat these threats effectively across urban areas and sensitive border regions. During a live demonstration at Hyderabad’s T-Hub incubator, company CEO Kiran Raju emphasized the vehicle’s role in bolstering border security and preventing illicit activities.

Powered by the SkyOS AI command platform from Green Robotics, the Ranger integrates advanced technologies like GNSS spoofing, RF jammers, and a rapid-response ‘kill switch’. This AI-driven system automates many operations, enabling operators to respond to threats with minimal delay. Manufactured entirely in India and having achieved ARDTC certification, the Indrajaal Ranger is now cleared for both military and civilian deployment. Initial deployments are expected in the coming months across various critical zones, including border roads, agricultural areas, and urban centers.

Built on a robust Toyota Hilux 4×4 chassis, the Ranger is capable of navigating challenging all-terrain conditions. Its exterior is equipped with specialized sensors, reinforced panels, and integrated jamming and laser units. The cabin features a performance-oriented, military-style design with multi-touch screens for threat monitoring and navigation, alongside quick-access controls for immediate threat engagement. Under the hood, it shares Toyota’s 2.8L diesel engine, offering substantial power and off-road capability with multiple driving modes.
