Russian President Vladimir Putin’s second day in New Delhi is packed with key diplomatic engagements. This visit, the first since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began, holds significant importance for both India and Russia.

Putin’s Friday agenda kicks off with a ceremonial reception at the Presidential Palace at 11:00 AM. Following this, he will pay his respects at 11:30 AM with a wreath-laying ceremony at Rajghat, honoring Mahatma Gandhi. The central event of the day is the high-level summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scheduled for 11:50 AM at Hyderabad House. Leaders are expected to issue joint press statements at 1:50 PM. The afternoon includes a business event at 3:40 PM, before Putin meets with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7:00 PM. His departure from New Delhi is planned for 9:00 PM.

The 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit will likely address critical areas such as trade, defense ties, and regional security, reinforcing the enduring strategic partnership between the two nations amidst evolving global dynamics.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Modi extended a warm welcome, breaking protocol to greet President Putin personally at the airport. The leaders shared a friendly reception and traveled together, engaging in conversation as they proceeded to the Prime Minister’s residence for a private dinner.
