Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sanctioned Rs 227.73 crore to fuel a slew of development projects, marking a significant stride in the state’s progress. The decision, revealed during a cabinet committee meeting, underscores the government’s resolve to bridge infrastructural gaps in mountainous regions.

This financial nod covers a wide array of schemes, from enhancing road connectivity in high-altitude areas to modernizing educational institutions and healthcare units. In districts like Uttarkashi and Almora, funds will support bridge constructions over raging rivers and digital classrooms in government schools.

Dhami highlighted the role of these projects in empowering local communities. ‘Development must reach the last mile, especially in our challenging geography,’ he remarked. The package also includes provisions for women self-help groups and skill training centers, promoting economic inclusion.

Breaking down the allocation: Rs 85 crore for roads and bridges, Rs 60 crore for health and education, and the rest for water conservation and rural electrification. This comes amid Uttarakhand’s post-monsoon recovery efforts, where resilient infrastructure is paramount.

Stakeholders applaud the timely intervention. Tourism bodies expect improved access to trekking routes, potentially boosting visitor numbers. With stringent monitoring mechanisms in place, the state aims for 100% project completion within deadlines. This funding injection not only accelerates growth but also fortifies Uttarakhand against future calamities, paving the way for holistic prosperity.
