Governor Faisal Karim Kundi condemned the assault in unequivocal terms, voicing fury at the loss of brave lives. The attack follows closely on the heels of a shooting spree in Lucky Marwat, where three traffic cops fell to gunfire from unidentified bikers, and another in Bannu claiming one more life.
In a proactive response, KP police and CTD conducted intelligence-based raids over the weekend, eliminating eight suspected terrorists in Bannu, Khyber, and suburban Peshawar areas. Officials claimed these militants were plotting further strikes against security installations.
