South Africa’s Under-19 team etched their name in the annals of cricket history with a staggering 329-run victory over Tanzania in the U19 World Cup 2026. Played on January 19 in Windhoek, this Group D clash at High Performance Oval saw the Proteas bat first and plunder 397/5.

Jason Rawles starred with an unbeaten 125 (101 balls, 10×4, 5×6), partnering with skipper Mohammad Bulbulia for a match-defining 201-run stand. Bulbulia departed for 108 (108 balls, 11 boundaries) after steadying the ship post early wobbles at 93/2. Zorich van Schalkwyk’s explosive 47 (34 balls) and Paul James’ 46 (18 balls) added firepower.

Tanzania’s response was dismal, all out for 68 in 32.2 overs. Four wickets down at 13, their fightback fizzled despite a 26-run alliance between Laksh Bakrania and Simba Mbaki (17). Buyanda Majola and Jason Rolls shared four wickets for South Africa.

This triumph slots into second place among U19 World Cup’s biggest run-margin wins, behind Australia’s 430-run demolition of Kenya (2002) and ahead of India’s 326-run win against Uganda (2022). For South Africa, it’s consecutive victories; Tanzania laments successive losses. The performance signals strong contenders emerging from Group D.
