New Delhi witnessed a groundbreaking initiative as the Responsible Nations Index (RNI) was launched under the World Intellectual Foundation at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre. This comprehensive tool goes beyond traditional indicators of wealth and influence, focusing instead on nations’ commitments to moral governance, societal well-being, ecological protection, and international duties.

Chief guest and former Indian President Ram Nath Kovind set the tone with his keynote, advocating for ethical responsibility and inclusive development as essential drivers of lasting advancement in an interconnected world.

Born from an intensive three-year research endeavor involving scholars from Jawaharlal Nehru University and IIM Mumbai, the RNI represents a bold reimagining of how we gauge national success.

A key highlight was the expert panel on ‘From Human Welfare to Global Duty: Rethinking Responsibility, Prosperity, and Peace in the 21st Century,’ moderated by NK Singh. Participants included top economists and academics such as Prachi Mishra, Dr. Lavish Bhandari, Neelkanth Mishra, Shantishree D. Pandit, Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Prof. Eduard Husson, and Justice Arun Kumar Mishra, who debated redefining success in a globalized landscape.

Sudhanshu Mittal, WIF’s founder, proclaimed the index a transformative step from power-focused to responsibility-centered evaluations, embedding ethics into policy outcomes.

The launch concluded with the unveiling of the RNI report, poised to spark worldwide dialogues on accountable governance and collaborative progress.
