In a display of high-level protocol, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan arrived in Bengaluru on Wednesday via a special IAF aircraft at HAL Airport. His two-day schedule features prominent engagements, starting with the seventh smriti divas of Sri Shivakumar Swamiji at Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur, followed by the 25th anniversary gala at CMR Institute of Technology.

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot spearheaded the airport welcome, flanked by Union MoS Railways V Somanna, State Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, top bureaucrats like Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh, DGP MA Saleh, Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, and DM G Jagdish. The cordial reception set a tone of respect and anticipation.

Promptly after landing, Radhakrishnan departed by helicopter to Tumkur, stepping into his role as chief guest at the poignant memorial at Sri Siddaganga Mutt. The event commemorates the spiritual luminary whose guidance shaped generations through education and service.

Taking to X, the Vice President posted about the heartfelt greetings from Governor Gehlot, Somanna, Gundu Rao, and others at NAL Airport, expressing appreciation for their hospitality. Later, he will attend CMRIT’s silver jubilee, celebrating a quarter-century of academic excellence.

Reflecting recent activities, Radhakrishnan’s Tuesday visit to Delhi’s Gandhi Ashram Kasturba Museum evoked profound emotions. The unadorned kitchen and home of the Gandhis symbolized the virtues of austerity and determination central to the independence movement.

At the Gandhi Ashram, he opened the expanded Mahadev Desai Library under Harijan Sevak Sangh, proclaiming knowledge as the bedrock of social reform. ‘This isn’t just bricks and books,’ he remarked, ‘it’s a pledge to harness wisdom for lasting impact.’

This Bengaluru sojourn highlights Radhakrishnan’s dedication to intertwining spirituality, academia, and historical introspection, fostering a narrative of cultural continuity amid modern achievements.
