A new spiritual landmark is taking shape just 10 kilometers away from Patna’s Zero Mile. In Chandasi village, located along the Patna-Gaya road, work is in full swing to complete what is being hailed as the world’s tallest Ardhanarishvara statue. Standing at an impressive 108 feet, the statue symbolizes the divine balance between the masculine and feminine energies of the universe. The temple complex where the statue resides is spread across nearly an acre of land and is being built to accommodate thousands of pilgrims. Local authorities and temple organizers expect this site to significantly boost Bihar’s tourism profile once it is officially inaugurated.
What makes this project truly remarkable is the scale of the entire complex. Beyond the central Ardhanarishvara figure, the site will feature a total of 111 statues of various deities. This design follows the traditional belief in the 33 crore gods and goddesses of the Hindu pantheon. The entrance of the temple will be guarded by large statues of Lord Hanuman and Shani Dev, while other significant figures like Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya will also be present. The completion of this project is expected to turn the Gaurichak region into a major stop on the Bihar religious circuit, drawing interest from historians, art lovers, and devotees alike.
