The Shiva Lingam at Bateshwar Nath Dham is considered ‘Swayambhu’, meaning it appeared naturally without human intervention. Legends link this site to the Ramayana era, suggesting that King Janak of Mithila would stop here to pray while traveling to the Ganges for ritual baths. Today, the temple attracts thousands of devotees, especially during the month of Shravan, who come to witness the divine merging of a sacred tree and the deity, seeking blessings for their families.
