On Parakram Diwas, commemorating the birth of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, top Congress figures including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi paid glowing tributes to the fearless revolutionary. The event highlighted Netaji’s role in galvanizing the independence movement through the Azad Hind Fauj and his enduring anti-communal stance.

Kharge’s message on X platform resonated deeply: He lauded the ‘great freedom fighter, former Congress president, and our eternal inspiration’ for awakening revolutionary fervor with battle cries that stirred the nation’s soul. Netaji’s devotion to India and rejection of sectarianism, Kharge noted, propel us towards selfless service.

Rahul Gandhi described Netaji as a towering figure in India’s freedom saga, whose bravery and leadership lit the path to liberty. ‘Every Indian finds inspiration in his national commitment,’ he affirmed.

Bhupendra Hooda, ex-Haryana CM, invoked Netaji’s rallying cry that breathed fresh life into the struggle for sovereignty. Meanwhile, Randeep Surjewala quoted Netaji’s words on perseverance amid hardship, honoring the Congress stalwart and INA architect who led from the front in the national movement.

Born in 1897, Subhas Chandra Bose resigned from the Indian Civil Service to join the fight against British rule. His formation of the Indian National Army in 1943, with its women’s regiment under Captain Lakshmi Sahgal, marked a bold chapter. Though his fate remains shrouded—official records cite a 1945 plane crash—Netaji symbolizes indomitable spirit.

Today, as leaders invoke his memory, it underscores the ongoing relevance of his ideals in fostering national unity and progress. Congress’s homage reflects a broader political narrative of reclaiming revolutionary heritage amid India’s evolving democracy.
