In a fiery opening salvo for the NDA’s Tamil Nadu election push, AMMK chief T.T.V. Dinakaran lambasted Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for indulging in ‘hereditary politics’ amid widespread public suffering. The event unfolded at a massive rally near Chennai’s Maduranthakam suburb, graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

Dinakaran didn’t hold back, claiming Stalin’s focus on positioning son Udhayanidhi as his successor has crippled effective governance. ‘Crime rates are soaring, law enforcement is in shambles, and economic relief is nowhere in sight—yet family promotion tops the agenda,’ he declared to roaring crowds.

This joint platform united key NDA figures including AIADMK’s Edappadi K. Palaniswami, PMK’s Anbumani Ramadoss, and TMC(M)’s G.K. Vasan, underscoring alliance solidarity ahead of the polls. Dinakaran praised PM Modi, now in his third term, for vowing to end Tamil Nadu’s ‘family-centric misrule’ and usher in an era of growth and safety.

Addressing AMMK’s alliance entry, he admitted historical frictions but affirmed the move was deliberate and principled. Drawing from J. Jayalalithaa’s teachings, Dinakaran stressed the duty to support or oppose based on public welfare, not personal ties.

The rally’s optics—NDA leaders converging under Modi’s leadership—portend a robust challenge to DMK’s hold. Analysts see this as a calculated bid to exploit anti-incumbency sentiments, positioning NDA as the beacon of clean, development-focused governance. Tamil Nadu’s electorate now watches closely as campaigns intensify.
