In a heartfelt 130th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on January 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from New Delhi, weaving tales of innovation and resilience. This first broadcast of 2026 covered society’s evolving dynamics, farming revolutions, wellness trends, and tech frontiers, while applauding ordinary citizens’ extraordinary contributions.

Millets emerged as the episode’s star, with Modi celebrating the relentless global fervor. ‘From 2023’s Millet Year to today, the passion endures,’ he noted. ‘Shri Anna isn’t just food—it’s a bridge to our roots, fueling health and farmer prosperity worldwide.’

Vivid examples brought his points home. In Tamil Nadu, the Periyapalayam Millet FPO empowers 800 women who’ve pivoted to processing and direct sales of millet goods. Their success story of self-reliance inspires districts nationwide. Meanwhile, Rajasthan’s Ramsar sees 900-plus farmers turning bajra into popular laddus, capitalizing on rising demand.

‘Many temples now serve only millet prasad,’ Modi observed, illustrating how these grains unite cultural practices with modern economics. He stressed their nutritional edge, especially during colder months, for overall vitality. The PM also teased February’s India AI Impact Summit, inviting global experts and hinting at future discussions.

Ending on an uplifting note, Modi extended Republic Day wishes, urging collective strides toward a stronger India. His words paint a picture of millets as a multifaceted powerhouse driving empowerment and sustainability.
