Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the platform of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode 130 to spotlight extraordinary youth-driven cleanliness drives from Arunachal Pradesh to Karnataka. Broadcasting from New Delhi on Sunday, he noted with pride how young Indians are proactively beautifying their surroundings.

Starting with Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh—where ‘Jai Hind’ greetings echo and dawn breaks first—Modi praised a group of youths who targeted dirty spots for cleanup. Their initiative rapidly grew, covering multiple towns and successfully eliminating 11 lakh kg of trash. This youth power, he said, is a beacon of inspiration.

Turning to Nagaon in Assam, Modi recounted how nostalgia for old alleys spurred locals to pledge cleanliness. A dedicated team emerged, removing vast amounts of waste and spreading awareness, turning sentiment into action.

Bengaluru’s response to the sofa waste crisis was another highlight. Tech-savvy professionals formed squads to recycle bulky furniture discards, mirroring efforts in Chennai for landfill management. These stories illustrate a pan-India commitment to hygiene.

Modi stressed that Swachh Bharat succeeds only through collective participation. Whether cleaning lanes, public areas, or recycling, every effort counts. He called on all to join hands, affirming that personal involvement will make India’s cleanliness vision a reality.
