Cycling enthusiasts and democracy’s new champions converged in Delhi for the exhilarating 58th ‘Sunday on Cycle’ event. Timed perfectly with National Voters’ Day and Republic Day eve, the ride included elite kabaddi players, fresh-faced first-time voters, and disciplined BSF jawans, promoting a holistic vision of national wellness.

Speaking at the event, Fit India Director Nadeem Dar shared ambitious plans. This edition marks a milestone by integrating young voters, he noted, expanding from Delhi to dozens of cities. With cycling, Zumba, and yoga, the program has engaged over 25 lakh people. ‘Our goal is nationwide proliferation,’ Dar affirmed, stressing fitness as intertwined with youth empowerment.

Kabaddi ace Rohit Kumar endorsed the initiative: ‘Such programs ensure our nation stays robust.’ Fellow player Ritu Shyoren focused on gender inclusion: ‘Cycling breaks barriers for women held back by societal norms. Let’s make Sunday rides a staple for all.’

Echoing this, a veteran sports figure lauded Fit India’s broad appeal. ‘Athletes live for sport, but everyone must treat fitness as essential upkeep,’ he remarked. ‘Don’t let it be a one-off celebration—make it routine.’

Across the country, echoes resounded. In Amritsar, Minister Raksha Khadse spearheaded the pedal fest. SAI’s Mayank Srivastava invoked PM Modi’s 2019 clarion call: daily half-hour fitness doses over digital distractions. Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya advocates one sport daily. Blending voter festivity with BSF participation and new voter excitement, the event spanned 30-35 sites, from Karaikal to Patiala, fostering a fitter, voting-ready India.
