As India gears up for its 75th Republic Day, Punjab Police kicked off flag marches province-wide on Sunday evening. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s firm instructions drove the operation, focusing on high-risk zones to safeguard festivities.

DGP Gaurav Yadav mandated that police commissioners, SSPs, and SHOs stay deployed through the celebrations. Their presence was key to flawless execution.

Leading the charge, Special DGP Arpit Shukla detailed how police units swept through fragile neighborhoods. Beyond visibility, the marches built community trust and sharpened response readiness.

Statewide security stands elevated, Shukla affirmed, with more than 20,000 officers on duty. High-traffic areas underwent intensified CASO drills under senior supervision, prioritizing polite engagements.

The momentum continued with the ongoing war on drugs. On day 330, 50 smugglers were apprehended with substantial heroin and pills. Cumulative busts exceed 46,000, complemented by rehab referrals for eight addicts.

From curbing rowdyism to dismantling narco networks, Punjab’s strategy reflects comprehensive threat mitigation. Flag marches exemplify the force’s commitment to a secure national milestone.
