In a moving commemoration of the Father of the Nation’s martyrdom, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Lucknow’s GPO Park on January 30 to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi. The tribute ceremony, steeped in tradition and emotion, drew a gathering of officials and schoolchildren.

Yogi Adityanath approached the iconic Gandhi statue, placing a wreath and offering prayers in silence. The gesture symbolized profound respect for Gandhi’s philosophy of ahimsa and satyagraha. Following the ritual, he posted on X, calling upon the public to adopt Bapu’s values in their daily lives for national progress.

Adding to the solemnity, local school students enchanted the crowd with renditions of devotional songs cherished by Gandhi. The soulful strains of ‘Raghupati Raghav’ filled the air, holding attendees in rapt attention for about 15 minutes. The CM commended their efforts and joined them for a group photo, creating a memorable moment.

His X post read: ‘Shat-shat naman to Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi ji on his punyatithi. Revered Bapu’s truthful conduct, unyielding dedication to non-violence, and unparalleled empathy for mankind will eternally guide the world. Come, let’s embody his principles to forge a wealthy, equitable, and advanced Bharat.’

Prominent attendees included Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, legislators Neeraj Bora and Jay Devi, council members Mahendra Singh, Mukesh Sharma, Ramchandra Pradhan, and BJP’s Anand Dwivedi. Each laid flowers, ensuring the event resonated with collective admiration.

As India reflects on Gandhi’s enduring impact, such observances bridge the past with the present, motivating a renewed commitment to his vision of harmony and self-reliance.
