The vibrant campus of Bihar Agricultural University in Sabour buzzed with energy as its prestigious three-day inter-college sports and cultural festival concluded successfully on Friday. Attracting 503 dedicated participants—split evenly between genders—from 11 teams of 10 colleges, the event celebrated athletic prowess and artistic talent in equal measure.

Participants embodied true sporting spirit across disciplines, making the annual gathering a resounding success. Standout athletes now gear up for national representation at ICAR games in New Delhi, a testament to the event’s high standards.

Bihar Agricultural College Sabour’s postgraduates reigned supreme in sports, amassing 60 points with an impressive medal haul: 8 golds, 4 silvers, 4 bronzes. Undergrads from the same college followed closely in second with 48 points and a balanced tally of medals. Special accolades went to Ankita (Agricultural Biotechnology, Sabour) as top woman athlete and Pratap Kumar (Agricultural Engineering, Ara) for men.

Day three delivered edge-of-the-seat action. In badminton, Kishanganj’s Dr. Kalam College claimed girls’ gold, Sabour silver; Sabour postgrads flipped it for boys’. Table tennis girls’ title to Dr. Kalam over Saharsa’s Mandan Bharti; boys’ to Sabour over Dumraon’s Veer Kunwar Singh. Mandan Bharti won men’s volleyball against Sabour, while Veer Kunwar Singh took girls’ kabaddi, with Sabour dominating boys’.

Cultural highlights crowned Sabour postgrads as champions, undergrads as runners-up, with Ali Asaba as star performer. Group dances and songs reinforced Sabour’s lead.

The finale featured trophy presentations and motivational words from Dr. Shweta Shambhavi, who emphasized the event’s role in building well-rounded individuals. A host of university officials witnessed the celebrations, marking another chapter in Sabour’s sporting legacy.
