Bihar politics witnessed an unusual scene Monday as Tejashwi Yadav, the fiery Leader of Opposition, entered the assembly complex in a wheelchair. The striking image drew immediate attention amid the high-stakes budget session opener. Social media buzzed with questions: What’s wrong with Bihar’s rising political star?

The 35-year-old leader clarified the situation succinctly. A simple household accident around January 25 left him with a painful foot injury – specifically, his left big toenail got dislodged after he stumbled. The pain was severe enough to impair walking, forcing him to use wheelchair assistance for the session.

‘I tripped 8-9 days back. The nail came off. These things happen,’ Yadav told journalists outside the assembly, maintaining his characteristic composure. Party sources said he’s receiving proper medical attention and expects recovery soon.

This comes against the backdrop of Bihar’s charged political atmosphere. The budget session began with Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s joint address to both houses, highlighting NDPP government’s roadmap ahead. But opposition focus quickly shifted to burning issues.

RJD legislators are gearing up to confront the treasury benches over the shocking NEET student suicide case. Senior party leader Bhai Virendra vowed relentless opposition to ‘wrong policies,’ particularly women’s safety lapses exposed by the tragedy.

RJD’s general secretary and MLA Ranvijay Sahu issued an ultimatum: no smooth functioning until CM Nitish responds. The opposition claims power players are shielding real perpetrators while pushing superficial CBI investigations. Protests will continue until victim’s family gets justice, they declared.

Tejashwi’s wheelchair appearance underscored his commitment despite personal discomfort. As Bihar assembly debates budget allocations and governance failures, all eyes remain on how NDA counters the emboldened opposition strategy. The session has only just begun, but battle lines are clearly drawn.
