In a heartfelt endorsement, VHP’s global leader Alok Kumar launched the poster for ‘Godaan’, a cinematic tribute to gau raksha, set to hit screens soon. Speaking to IANS at the New Delhi event on Monday, Kumar showered praise on the film, calling its trailer ‘magnificent’ after a preview.
Invoking Gandhi’s philosophy, he shared, ‘The Mahatma prioritized cow welfare above independence, serving them diligently and renouncing cow milk for the calves’ sake.’ This anecdote underscored the deep cultural sanctity of cows in India.
Kumar’s personal story added emotional depth. As a child, he joined the historic 1966 cow protection rally on November 7. ‘Sants and devotees converged nationwide, but authorities unleashed violence with batons and bullets,’ he recalled somberly.
Addressing contemporary challenges, Kumar stated, ‘Slaughter persists across states—a national tragedy. We need unwavering faith and safeguards. City dwellers grapple with stray cows, yet nurturing them requires maternal devotion and sacrifice.’
Optimistic about ‘Godaan’s impact, he urged viewers to embrace its message. ‘This film will awaken national conscience,’ Kumar affirmed, blessing the makers and foreseeing box-office success.
