Chhattisgarh’s tourism landscape is set for a major upgrade with Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurating the Mayali-Bagicha project under Swadesh Darshan 2.0. The Rs 10 crore venture, launched at Mayali Nature Camp, targets comprehensive development across Mayali, Madheshwar Peak, and Bagicha’s Kailash Cave.

CM Sai described it as a game-changer. ‘Jashpur’s tourism gets a historic push today. Mayali will shine on the global map,’ he declared, extending best wishes to residents.

Centuries-old Madheshwar Mahadev, famed for its massive natural Shivling, will gain prominence. Plans encompass a resort by the dam and a training hub to skill up locals.

Echoing the state’s homestay initiative, Sai highlighted how villagers can profit from tourism. ‘Jungles, cascades, peaks, and tribal heritage will draw crowds, with earnings staying local,’ he noted.

Youth empowerment is central: the skill center will offer courses in guiding tours, hotel management, adventure activities, crafts, and online reservations. This multifaceted approach will promote Jashpur’s social and cultural richness.

The revamp features luxury cottages, convention facilities, imposing gateways, secure walls, hygienic amenities, scenic pathways, and landscaping. Shiv temple areas get dedicated entrances and paths, while Kailash Cave sees picnic zones, shaded rests, improved ghats, and safer access via stairs and railings.

This ambitious endeavor under the Ministry of Tourism is poised to invigorate local economy, amplify visitor numbers, and cement Mayali-Bagicha’s status as a must-visit eco-religious destination.
