Tensions flare in Indian politics after Rahul Gandhi’s fiery ‘gaddar dost’ comment targeting BJP’s Ravneet Singh Bittu during Lok Sabha proceedings. BJP spokesperson Shazia Ilmi hit back hard, deeming the words ‘beyond tolerance’ and a direct assault on parliamentary decorum.

Speaking candidly, Ilmi argued that party-hopping is commonplace in politics. ‘Calling defectors traitors sets a dangerous precedent,’ she warned, emphasizing how such rhetoric tarnishes Gandhi’s leadership credentials.

Ilmi also lambasted Mamata Banerjee for her undignified Supreme Court language, reducing a revered institution to a ‘WhatsApp group.’ This, she said, exposes Banerjee’s disdain for constitutional bodies, propped up by an infiltrator-dependent electorate.

In Basti, UP, Ilmi denounced Shama Bano’s coercive religious conversions and mistreatment of women as violations of both law and Islamic tenets. ‘The Quran rejects forced conversions outright,’ she clarified.

Echoing PM Modi’s call for modern education among Muslims—balancing religious texts with tech skills—Ilmi stressed the need for children to prepare for competitive exams and societal roles. She endorsed UP’s madrasa probe as a vital step to scrutinize syllabi, finances, and overall operations for accountability and child welfare.
