In a move signaling stronger ties between Bollywood icon-turned-MP Hema Malini and Delhi’s leadership, the actor-politician met Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday. Their talks delved into critical development issues shaping the national capital’s future.

A post from the CMO on social media confirmed the productive exchange on multiple subjects, reflecting a shared vision for Delhi’s advancement.

This came shortly after Gupta’s prominent role in World Cancer Day initiatives. Alongside Union Health Minister Pratap Rao Jadhav, she launched the impactful ‘Jan-Jan Jage, Cancer Bhage’ drive at the NDMC Convention Centre, rallying public participation against the deadly disease.

Addressing the gathering, the CM painted a stark picture of cancer’s toll—eroding not only bodily health but also psychological strength, personal esteem, and household economies. She advocated for a holistic battle plan, emphasizing community solidarity and compassionate action beyond mere clinical interventions.

Spotlighting Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Gupta noted their evolution into Delhi’s primary health pillars. With nearly 350 facilities now active, they deliver gratis checks for major cancers like oral, breast, and cervical, plus drugs, immunizations, and tests—all free or low-cost.

The national Ayushman Bharat program has enrolled over 430 million citizens, delivering life-saving coverage. In Delhi alone, lakhs are reaping its rewards. Meanwhile, the Jan Aushadhi network, exceeding 16,000 outlets countrywide, slashes medicine costs by up to 90%, with Delhi accelerating its rollout for broader access.

A major boost: Central funding of Rs 10,000 crore for Delhi’s premier hospitals—AIIMS, Safdarjung, and RML—promises state-of-the-art upgrades. Expect stronger facilities, modern tech, and patient-centric care that upholds dignity and efficiency.

Gupta vowed unwavering support from her administration to every entity advancing healthcare and citizen welfare, positioning Delhi as a model for integrated public health.
