Amid the rugged terrains of Jammu’s Indo-Pak border, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Friday connected deeply with BSF personnel at outposts Gurnam and Bobia. His visit included tributes at the invincible sentinels’ memorial and a tree-planting drive, underscoring resilience and renewal.

Key highlights were the launch of Rs 7 crore welfare initiatives – solar-powered facilities and upgraded messes – alongside groundbreaking for Rs 242 crore in border infrastructure. Attendees included Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and top security officials, marking a high-profile endorsement of BSF’s frontline role.

In his stirring speech, Shah recounted lessons in patriotism from BSF outposts across India’s extremities. ‘Your unyielding spirit in the face of adversity teaches us all,’ he told the jawans, who he described as living symbols of sacrifice over six decades.

Recalling historic stands against border threats, Shah spotlighted Operation Sindoor’s triumphs: neutralizing enemy positions and terror pads, with heroic sacrifices honored by top awards. BSF’s footprint extends to internal security in northeast and naxal belts, plus heroic flood rescues in Punjab, earning statewide acclaim.

Turning to the future, Shah addressed evolving threats demanding tech-savvy responses. Declaring BSF’s 61st year as one of transformation, he outlined government plans for welfare packages, massive investments in gadgets and bases. ‘PM Modi’s vision ensures our guardians are equipped like never before,’ he said.

Shah applauded the vital role of female BSF members and joined jawans for a meal, embodying leadership’s commitment. The BSF’s legacy ensures India’s secure tomorrows, a beacon of national pride.
