Pathalgada came alive with the thunder of motorcycle engines as locals organized a grand rally in firm support of the University Grants Commission (UGC) framework. Launched from the prakhand headquarters, the event traversed multiple villages, building momentum before assembling at Gandhi Chowk for an impassioned rally-turned-meeting.

The forefront was commanded by UGC Support Front chief Chandramani Yadav, with key allies Ashish Dangi and Tirthnath Dangi steering the enthusiastic bikers. This wasn’t just a ride; it was a statement against perceived biases in academic hiring.

The route mapped an ambitious path: from Gandhi Chowk via Subhash Chowk, Barwadih, Dumbi, Belhar, Chautha, Navadih, Bajobar, Ichak, then looping back through Qubba, Angara, Banwara to Pathalgada, Singhani, Lemboiya, Tetaria, and Non. Villagers lined the roads, waving flags and joining the cause.

Addressing the packed audience at Gandhi Chowk, CPI’s Arjun Kumar, ex-mukhiya Rajendra Prasad, Vasudev Dangi, Krishna Dangi, Sukhsagar Rana, Baiju Yadav, and others rallied the crowd. They argued that the UGC regulations are vital for national progress, eradicating discrimination and benefiting marginalized groups like Dalits, minorities, Adivasis, EWS, and OBCs. ‘This is a law for equality— the Centre must enforce it robustly,’ they declared.

Slogans rent the air, with attendees voicing unwavering backing for the UGC Act. The event highlights rising community activism in Jharkhand’s education discourse, signaling broader calls for fair play in university governance.

In the aftermath, organizers vowed to sustain momentum through more such drives, aiming to influence policy at higher levels and ensure the UGC’s vision translates into real-world equity.
