The Citroën C3 Aircross SUV has received a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection from the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). The vehicle scored 27.05 points out of 33 for adult safety and 40 out of 49 for child occupant protection, resulting in a 4-star rating for child safety. The Aircross is the 22nd car to achieve a 5-star rating under the Bharat NCAP program. Despite this, it holds one of the lower scores among the 5-star rated vehicles in terms of adult safety. The crash tests assessed the structural integrity of the Aircross, finding the structure and footwell area stable and capable of withstanding further impact. The SUV provided good to adequate protection to adult occupants across all body regions in both frontal and side impact scenarios. The side pole test demonstrated full head protection provided by curtain airbags. For child occupants, the Aircross ensured full protection to 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies when using ISOFIX anchorages and support legs in rearward-facing child seats. The vehicle also includes i-Size anchorages as standard for enhanced child seat installation. Safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-hold assist, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The body structure incorporates High Strength Steel (HSS), Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) to enhance crash energy absorption. Comfort and convenience features include LED projector headlamps, automatic air-conditioning, power-folding ORVMs, a soft-touch dashboard, rear AC vents, and repositioned power window switches. Transmission options comprise 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic. It is available in 5-seater and 5+2 seater configurations. Engine choices consist of a 1.2L PureTech 110 turbocharged petrol engine producing 110 PS and 205 Nm, along with a 1.2L PureTech 82 naturally aspirated petrol engine. The Citroën Aircross is priced from Rs 8.32 lakh to Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
