The lowest price cut of ₹74,000 applies to the base-spec MX1 RWD MT petrol variant of the Thar Roxx. The SUV’s petrol variants have become cheaper by up to ₹1.18 lakh. The fully-loaded AX7L 4WD diesel-automatic variant of the Thar Roxx gets the maximum benefit of ₹1.33 lakh. This is expected to further boost sales of the SUV during this festive season.

The price reduction for the Mahindra Thar Roxx has been implemented despite a 12% increase in the GST rate for this SUV. Previously, the Thar Roxx was subject to 28% GST; under the new tax regime, it will attract 40% GST because the SUV is longer than 4,000 mm and its engine capacity is more than 1,500 cc. Earlier, the total tax on this SUV was 48%, which was due to 28% GST and 20% cess.
