The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) introduced the FASTag Annual Pass on August 15th. This pass allows private vehicle owners to make 200 toll crossings for just ₹3,000. This FASTag is valid across all national highways and national expressways in the country. The main advantage is that the cost per toll is reduced to ₹15, compared to the usual ₹50 to ₹60 per toll. Additionally, it helps avoid long queues at toll plazas.

The FASTag Annual Pass is exclusively for cars, jeeps, and vans; it’s not applicable to buses, trucks, or other commercial vehicles. Overall, the pass can provide significant savings, as it remains active for a full year once activated. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to activate the annual FASTag pass.

    1. Download the Rajmarg Yatra App or Visit the NHAI Website
The Annual Pass can only be activated through the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or the official NHAI website. A good internet connection is essential during activation, and the latest version of the app must be installed to prevent any technical issues. The app is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

    2. Log in and Check Eligibility
Log in using your mobile number or vehicle number (VRN). Ensure your FASTag is active, correctly affixed to your vehicle, linked to a valid VRN, and not blacklisted. If the FASTag is registered only with the chassis number, update it with the VRN before proceeding. Also, confirm that your vehicle is private/non-commercial to be eligible for the annual pass.

    3. Enter Vehicle and FASTag Details
Enter your vehicle details and FASTag ID. Upload necessary documents such as RC, owner’s ID and address proof, and a passport-sized photo, if required. Carefully review all information before submitting, as discrepancies could lead to delays or rejection.

    4. Make Payment
The annual pass fee for 2025-26 is ₹3,000. You can pay using UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking. Note that payments from wallet balance are not accepted. Keep the payment receipt/confirmation for reference in case of any issues.

    5. Activation Confirmation
After payment and verification, your annual pass will be activated on the existing FASTag. This process usually takes 2 hours, but it can sometimes take up to 24 hours. You will receive an SMS confirmation upon successful activation. You can also check the pass status on the app or the NHAI website dashboard to ensure the pass is active before use at toll plazas.
