Maruti Suzuki India has initiated the export of its e-Vitara model, with over 2,900 units shipped last month. These units were dispatched from the Pipavav port in Gujarat to 12 European countries: the UK, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium. The first e-Vitara was flagged off from the factory in Gujarat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 26th. The e-Vitara is exclusively manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant. Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, Hisashi Takeuchi, expressed pride in commencing the export of the e-Vitara to Europe. The company plans to export this model to over 100 countries, in addition to selling it in the domestic market. In August, Maruti Suzuki’s total exports increased by 40 percent, reaching 36,538 units, compared to 26,003 units during the same period last year.
