New Skoda Kushaq 2026: A Mid-Size SUV Set to Rival the Competition

Skoda Auto India has been in the mid-size SUV segment with the Kushaq for almost four years. The model is now slated for a mid-life update, with test mules already spotted ahead of its launch expected next year. The 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift is anticipated to retain the existing engine options while introducing cosmetic changes and new features. This SUV aims to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and other models in the mid-size SUV segment. Spy photos suggest that the updated Kushaq will feature a grille with slightly thinner vertical slats, new headlamps with a connected DRL setup, and revised fog lamp assemblies. The SUV will also include connected tail lamps inspired by the new Kodiaq, along with new front and rear bumpers and redesigned alloy wheels to enhance its appearance. The 2025 Skoda Kushaq facelift is likely to offer new upholstery and trims. Feature upgrades will include Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and a panoramic sunroof. Other features will be carried over from the current model, such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital driver display, an 8-speaker sound system, a wireless phone charger, automatic AC with rear vents, ventilated front seats, 6 airbags, hill hold assist, a 360-degree camera, a rear parking camera with sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchorage. The company is expected to retain the existing engine options. The 2025 Skoda Kushaq facelift may come with 1.0-liter TSI and 1.5-liter TSI petrol engines, generating a maximum power of 115PS (178Nm) and 150PS (250Nm) respectively. The engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the larger engine will be available with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
