Nissan India has launched the Magnite Kuro Edition, a new variant based on the N-Connect trim, with a starting price of ₹8.31 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kuro Edition arrives nearly a year after the Magnite’s mid-life update in October 2024. While there are no mechanical updates, the Kuro Edition features cosmetic enhancements both inside and out, along with some dealer-level accessories. This comparison explores the design, engine, specifications, and price of the Kuro Edition relative to the regular Magnite, providing a comprehensive overview for potential buyers.

**Design: Kuro Edition vs. Regular Magnite**
The most notable difference between the Kuro Edition and the regular Magnite is the all-black exterior. The Kuro model replaces chrome with a gloss black finish around the grille. The LED headlamps receive a smoked treatment, enhancing the front’s aggressive look. The front skid plate, which is silver on the standard variant, is finished in black on the Kuro Edition.

On the sides, the Kuro Edition showcases dark styling with black 16-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, and a black window beltline. A ‘Kuro’ badge is placed just below the exterior rearview mirrors on both sides. These changes distinctly differentiate this variant from the regular N-Connect trim, which combines body-color and silver accents.

At the rear, the updates are minimal. The Kuro Edition features a black finish on the lower skid plate, but the overall design and layout are similar to the standard Magnite. It also includes ‘Magnite’ badging, along with ‘Turbo’ and ‘CVT’ badges depending on the variant.

**Interior and Features: Kuro Edition vs. Magnite**
Inside the cabin, the Kuro Edition features an all-black theme on the dashboard, seat upholstery, roof liner, and door pads. Nissan calls this finish ‘Midnight Black,’ and piano black inserts around the AC vents, center console, door handles, steering wheel, and gear shifter further enhance its appeal. This creates a distinct difference from the standard Magnite.

In terms of features, the Kuro Edition retains all the features of the N-Connect trim. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch fully digital driver display, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, and push-button start/stop. The notable differences are the inclusion of a wireless phone charger and a dashcam, both available as dealer-level fitments.

Regarding safety features, the Kuro Edition offers six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and rear parking sensors. Despite these features, the Kuro Edition does not have a reverse parking camera.

    **Specifications: Kuro Edition vs. Magnite**
The Kuro Edition and the regular Magnite share the same mechanical specifications. Both are available with two engine options. The first is a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. The second engine is a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 100 PS of power and up to 160 Nm of torque. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox.

    **Price**
The Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition is priced between ₹8.31 lakh and ₹10.87 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the powertrain and transmission. Bookings can be made for ₹11,000.
