After a long wait, VinFast has finally launched its two electric SUVs in the Indian market. The smaller SUV, the VF6, is priced at ₹16.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the flagship model, the VF7, is priced at ₹20.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for both models have begun with a token amount of ₹21,000, and deliveries are expected to start from 2028.

VinFast is offering free charging and maintenance to its customers, and both SUVs come with a panoramic sunroof. The company is providing a 10-year or 2,00,000 km warranty on the VF7 and a 7-year or 2,00,000 km warranty on the VF6. Present in 16 countries, VinFast aims to expand into the Indian market with its electric vehicles. Electric vehicles made by VinFast in India will be exported to several countries in the South Asian region.

Both models have been brought in via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route for local assembly at the brand’s plant in Tamil Nadu. Bookings for the VF6 and VF7 have started, with two showrooms located in Surat and Chennai. The automaker aims to expand its dealership network to 35 showrooms in 27 cities by the end of this year. The VinFast VF6 comes in three trim levels – Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity.

The powertrain setup of the VinFast VF6 includes a 59.6kWh battery pack, paired with a single motor and FWD (Front-Wheel-Drive) system. This configuration generates 204bhp of power and 310Nm of torque. VinFast claims that the VF6 provides a range of up to 468 km on a single charge, certified by ARIA. It can be charged from 10% to 70% in just 25 minutes. Its wheelbase is 2,730 mm long, and the ground clearance is 190 mm.

The VinFast VF7 has a larger 70.8kWh battery pack, which comes with either a single-motor or a dual-motor setup. It is claimed to cover a distance of up to 532 km on a full charge. The dual-motor AWD variant generates a maximum of 350bhp and 500Nm of torque. This electric car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. It takes only 24 minutes to charge from 10% to 70%.

The VF6 Earth trim comes with an all-black cabin theme, while the Wind trim offers a dual-tone mocha brown and black interior. Similarly, the VinFast VF7 trims have a sporty all-black interior theme, while the high Wind and Sky variants come with mocha brown and black themes.

Both EVs are available in 6 color options: Urban Mint, Zenith Grey, Red, Infinity Blank, Desat Silver, and Black. The new VinFast electric SUVs come with several powerful features – a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto-dimming IRVM, HUD (Head-Up Display), wireless AACP, and a 6-speaker audio system.
