Once hampered by notorious traffic jams, Pune’s roads were meticulously prepped, with repairs ensuring smooth racing conditions.
Competitors faced intense scrutiny: skill assessments weeded out all but the best, who then raced against the clock on extended routes. Highlighting India’s rising prowess, a landmark 12-rider squad under Harshveer Singh Sekhon – fresh off an Asian silver – debuted in this UCI-sanctioned race.
With 164 pros from 28 teams across 35 nations, the tour drew international eyes. Aamir’s endorsement amplified its success, blending celebrity allure with athletic excellence.
