Deepika Padukone, known for her string of blockbuster films, and her husband, Ranveer Singh, a versatile actor, are navigating a challenging period in their careers. While they are admired as a couple, both face professional hurdles. Recent events suggest potential setbacks for their upcoming projects. The initial success Deepika enjoyed, supported by Shah Rukh Khan early in her career, seems to be wavering. Similarly, Ranveer’s recent film choices haven’t resonated with audiences, leading to a sense of lost momentum.

Deepika Padukone’s situation has drawn attention. She was reportedly removed from the South film ‘Spirit,’ starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, due to disagreements over working hours. She then exited Prabhas’s other film, ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ after the film’s release. Reports claim her departure was due to fee demands or a perceived reduction in her role. This has led to negative public perception and online trolling. Currently, Deepika has four major films: ‘King’ with Shah Rukh Khan, which she is filming in Poland; AA22 X A6 with Allu Arjun and Atlee, where her role might be reduced; ‘Pathan 2’ with Shah Rukh again, though this project may take time; and Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Shakti Shetty.’

Ranveer Singh also faces challenges. His last two films, ’83’ and ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar,’ were unsuccessful. He is currently working on ‘Dhurandhar,’ directed by Aditya Dhar, scheduled for release in December. He is also slated to begin work on Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3.’ Ranveer’s association with the film ‘Shaktimaan’ was cut short. He was also replaced in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War,’ now starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Furthermore, he exited a project with South director Prashanth Varma after shooting a video, causing significant financial loss to the producers. Both Deepika and Ranveer seem to be experiencing similar setbacks.

Potential consequences of these events include damaged prospects in the South film industry, where their actions might impact their relationships with filmmakers. Public perception also matters, particularly in the context of Bollywood’s efforts to appeal to South audiences and vice versa. Negative perceptions could make filmmakers hesitant to cast them, particularly in projects where audience sentiment is crucial, such as Deepika’s current project with Allu Arjun.
