Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Achieves Record-Breaking Box Office in India

The Japanese anime film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training, which was released on September 12, has become a massive success at the Indian box office. The film has earned an impressive Rs 47.70 crore net within its first five days, making it the highest-grossing non-Hollywood foreign film ever released in India. The film opened strongly on Friday with Rs 12.85 crore, followed by Rs 13.1 crore on Saturday and a peak of Rs 13.85 crore on Sunday. Although Monday saw a drop to Rs 3.5 crore, the overall performance is outstanding. In the first five days, the Hindi version of the film earned Rs 9.5 crore, and the English version earned Rs 8.65 crore. On its fifth day, the film collected approximately Rs 4.00 crore net in India across all languages. The film has already surpassed the lifetime India collections of previous anime hits such as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Suzume. Globally, it has become the highest-grossing Japanese film in local currency, exceeding 69 billion yen, thus breaking the record previously held by Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, which earned 54.5 billion yen. The film has a U/A 13+ certificate, indicating it is suitable for viewers above 13 years of age. The Infinity Castle Arc storyline follows the Hashira Training Arc where Tanjiro trains with various Hashiras to strengthen himself for the upcoming battles, however, Muzan kills Kagaya Ubuyashiki and his wife, setting the stage for the events of the Infinity Castle arc.
