The Indian box office experienced a dynamic Sunday, November 9, 2025, with a mix of established hits and new contenders vying for audience attention. While ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ continues its remarkable theatrical run, new releases like ‘Haq’ and ‘The Taj Story’ have entered the race, contributing to a vibrant cinematic landscape.

This past week saw a compelling array of films across genres. From emotional dramas to underdog narratives, the performances varied, making for an interesting Sunday collection. ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, starring Rishab Shetty, has achieved an outstanding net collection of Rs 617 crore in India, with worldwide gross earnings reaching Rs 728.06 crore after GST. Remarkably, the film continues to attract audiences to cinemas despite its availability on OTT platforms.

In the courtroom drama ‘Haq’, Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam’s performances have garnered steady traction. The film garnered Rs 3.75 crore on its first Sunday, bringing its total India collection to Rs 8.85 crore. Positive word-of-mouth and strong acting are key drivers for its sustained performance.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘Thamma’ added Rs 1.65 crore to its tally, pushing its total earnings to a significant Rs 131.05 crore. Meanwhile, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, demonstrated decent stability, adding Rs 1.50 crore for a total of Rs 74.95 crore, performing well particularly in urban centers.

The Assamese film ‘Roi Roi Binale’, marking Zubeen Garg’s final cinematic outing, is creating waves by breaking box office records. On its tenth day, it collected Rs 1.89 crore, reaching a total net collection of Rs 15.76 crore, positioning it among the highest-grossing Assamese films ever.

Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘The Girlfriend’ saw its strongest performance on its first Sunday, collecting Rs 3 crore and bringing its total to Rs 6.80 crore.

‘The Taj Story’, featuring Paresh Rawal, maintained a steady ground in its second week. On its second Sunday (November 9), it earned Rs 2.09 crore, a slight increase from Saturday, reaching a total of Rs 15.74 crore – a commendable figure for a period film with limited screen space.

Internationally, ‘Predator: Badlands’ has made a colossal impact, shattering franchise records with a worldwide opening of $80 million, highlighting a strong global appetite for the film.
