This unconventional film, based on a disturbing premise, deserves attention. Despite facing setbacks, ‘Murderbaad’ tackles necrophilia with a blend of sensitivity and boldness. Writer-director-producer Arnab Chatterjee’s work is commendable, though some editing adjustments could enhance the pace. The film’s plot incorporates populist elements like songs and suspense, yet the core theme challenges conventional expectations. The lead actor, Nakul Rohan Sahdev, delivers a brave performance despite the difficult role. Manish Chaudhary, as the police procedural in-charge, faces limitations, and his character’s actions sometimes seem imprudent. The narrative transitions from Jaipur to Kolkata offer interesting moments.
