Priya Marathe, ‘Pavitra Rishta’ Actress, Dies at 38 After Cancer Battle

Priya Marathe, a well-known television actress and comedian, passed away in Mumbai on August 31, 2025, at the age of 38. She was best recognized for her role as Varsha Satish in the popular series ‘Pavitra Rishta’. Marathe had been undergoing treatment for cancer for over a year, but unfortunately, she succumbed to the illness on Sunday morning. Born in Mumbai on April 23, 1987, Marathe began her career in Marathi serials before transitioning to Hindi television. She also showcased her comedic talents in the first season of ‘Comedy Circus’. Her portrayal of Varsha Satish in ‘Pavitra Rishta’ brought her widespread fame, and she subsequently appeared in numerous other prominent shows, including ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ and ‘Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap’. Marathe married actor Shantanu Moghe in 2012.
