Actor Rajat Bedi has shared his thoughts on the defamation case filed by former NCB official Sameer Wankhede concerning the Netflix series ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood.’ The series, which features Bedi, centers around Aryan Khan’s directorial debut. Wankhede, who was involved in the Aryan Khan drug bust case, has sued Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment, alleging the show unfairly tarnishes the reputation of anti-drug enforcement agencies and himself.
Bedi, speaking to ANI, offered a measured perspective, stating, “Sameer ji represents the government, and Aryan is our kid. The government is doing its job, but at the same time, Aryan is a kid, and he’s just growing up. Whatever happened, he’s gone through a tough phase.” He expressed that while he couldn’t comment extensively, he believed Aryan Khan had endured significant hardship.
“I think somewhere, he has gone through a little bit of hard things… and I think it shouldn’t have happened that way, but that’s about it. I don’t want to have any more comments on it,” Bedi added. His remarks come after Wankhede filed a civil defamation suit in the Delhi High Court, seeking damages and an injunction against the production house and the streaming giant. Wankhede claims the series promotes a misleading and negative narrative about drug enforcement, undermining public trust, and specifically targets him during ongoing legal proceedings.
