Aditya Dhar’s highly anticipated spy-action thriller, ‘Dhurandhar,’ starring Ranveer Singh, is currently navigating a legal challenge in the Delhi High Court. The parents of the late Major Mohit Sharma have filed a petition seeking to halt the film’s release, citing concerns over the depiction of real-life individuals without explicit consent.

The petitioners’ legal representative informed the court that the film’s teaser, released in September, prominently features the late Major Mohit Sharma. They contend that the film also draws inspiration from other real-life figures, including those in roles like SAA, and that the central narrative revolves around Major Mohit Sharma.

The Delhi High Court has since directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to thoroughly review all points raised by the petitioners before granting certification. The court also advised that if any aspects involve the army, the relevant authorities, such as ADGPI, should be consulted and their input submitted to the CBFC.

This directive means the film’s certification process is on hold as the CBFC evaluates the family’s objections. The legal team representing the parents has indicated that further legal options, including an injunction application, remain open if necessary, preserving their right to seek redressal.
