Actress Smrity Sinha, known for her work in both Bhojpuri and Marathi cinema, recently shared her experiences and observations about the two film industries. Having established herself as a prominent figure in Bhojpuri cinema, Sinha has also ventured into Marathi films, offering her a unique perspective on their workings. Originally from Jharkhand, Sinha began her acting career in Hindi television serials.

In a recent interview, Sinha was asked about her experience working in Marathi films compared to Bhojpuri cinema. She noted a key difference: the collaborative spirit and inclusivity in Marathi filmmaking. She observed that the entire cast is involved throughout the process, from production to promotion, unlike the common practice in some other industries where only the lead actors are primarily involved in promotional activities.

Sinha further elaborated on her observations, stating that Marathi actors confidently embrace their language, even during promotions. She contrasted this with the Bhojpuri film industry, where actors sometimes hesitate to speak Bhojpuri, even during promotional events. She emphasized the importance of unity and a sense of community within the Marathi film industry, which contributes to its success. She also pointed out that Marathi films often undergo workshops before filming, including both new and experienced actors, fostering a collaborative environment. In contrast, she felt that some Bhojpuri actors, after appearing in a few films, develop an inflated sense of self-importance, hindering the industry’s growth. Sinha believes that if the Bhojpuri film industry aims for broader recognition, it needs to cultivate a different approach and a greater sense of unity.
