While the film did not release in West Bengal due to political disputes, it has been screened in other parts of the country. However, a show of the film was suddenly canceled at a Mumbai theater, leading a user to express their anger on social media. ‘The Bengal Files,’ directed by Vivek Agnihotri, has been released. Based on a true event, the film was embroiled in controversies before its release. There was considerable excitement among people regarding the film, but a recent social media post revealed a user expressing their anger due to the sudden cancellation of a show at a Mumbai theater. They also shared a video showing people waiting at the ticket counter for the film. A user named Narayan Parvathy Parasuram shared a video of the ticket counter at Huma Mall in Kanjurmarg, Mumbai, on the social media platform X. Expressing his anger over the sudden cancellation of the show, he stated that many people were waiting to watch ‘The Bengal Files’ and that many were still standing in line. The shows of those who had already booked tickets were suddenly canceled. In his post, the user wrote that this wasn’t Kolkata, but the land of Shivaji Maharaj. Another user also shared their views on the cancellation, stating that they had come for the 9 AM show, which was canceled. They mentioned a large crowd, with at least 50 people for the morning show. Before the film’s release, actress Pallavi Joshi wrote an open letter to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, seeking intervention and protection of her constitutional rights.
