Celebrated singer Zubeen Garg has passed away following an accident while scuba diving in Singapore. The North East India Festival in Singapore confirmed the news of his sudden death. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been coordinating the repatriation of the singer’s mortal remains. The post-mortem examination was completed in Singapore, and the remains are being handed over to an accompanying team, including Shri Shekar Jothi Goswami, Shri Sandeepan Garg, and Shri Siddharth Sharma (Manager), in the presence of officers from the Indian Embassy. Earlier reports indicated that Garg experienced breathing difficulties while scuba diving and was given CPR before being rushed to Singapore General Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was declared deceased in the ICU. Garg launched his professional singing career in 1992, releasing his debut album ‘Anamika’. He recorded his first songs, ‘Tumi Junu Pariba Hun’ and ‘Tumi Junaki Hubakh’ in 1993. He released his first bihu album, Ujan Piriti, before moving to Mumbai in 1995.
