In a significant educational milestone, Jharkhand’s Matric and Intermediate board exams commenced statewide on Tuesday under the supervision of the Jharkhand Academic Council. A staggering 7.58 lakh students—4.23 lakh in Class 10 and 3.34 lakh in Class 12—are taking part, with exams spread across 1,232 and 757 centers respectively.

Day one featured IT and vocational subjects for Matriculants, and vocational papers across arts, science, and commerce streams for Inter students. The schedule extends to February 17 for Matric and February 23 for Intermediate, conducted in dual sessions to manage the volume.

Morning shift for Matric runs 9:45 AM to 12:35 PM, afternoon for Intermediate from 2 PM to 5:15 PM, complete with a 15-minute buffer for perusing papers. Comprehensive surveillance via CCTV ensures malpractice is swiftly checked.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren called upon all stakeholders—students, guardians, educators, and the public—to foster an atmosphere conducive to fair testing. The government’s resolve for qualitative educational reforms shines through its zero-tolerance on cheating.

JAC cracked down on digital mischief, cautioning against fake question leaks on social platforms. Violators risk prosecution under stringent cyber laws, channel blocks, and exposure. Citizens are encouraged to uphold tranquility near centers, alert authorities to anomalies, and trust solely verified council communications. Support is bolstered by a dedicated toll-free number.

This year’s exams symbolize not just academic evaluation but a step towards building a robust future workforce in Jharkhand, with every precaution underscoring the stakes involved.
