An investigation has been launched by the Agra Police following serious accusations made by Sarju Yadav against officers at the Kalindi Vihar, Trans Yamuna Police Station. Yadav claims she was mistreated, including being physically assaulted and having her clothing torn, by police personnel, including the Station House Officer (SHO). In a video statement, she expressed her intent to commit suicide if she doesn’t receive justice, holding the Trans Yamuna Police Station staff and the SHO accountable. The incident reportedly stemmed from her inquiry about a previously closed case. A physical altercation with a female police officer further escalated the situation, captured in a viral video. The police, however, released a statement stating that Yadav’s case had been closed in January. They allege that when she visited the station and began recording, she was stopped by a sub-inspector, after which she reportedly “misbehaved, abused, and physically assaulted” the officer and attempted self-harm. The police maintain that her allegations are false.
