In the Kochadhaman assembly constituency, AIMIM candidate Md. Sarwar Alam has emerged victorious, securing a decisive win. Alam garnered an impressive 81,860 votes, comfortably defeating his closest competitor, Mujahid Alam of the RJD, by a significant margin of 23,021 votes. The RJD candidate, Mujahid Alam, managed to secure 58,839 votes. Kochadhaman, located in Bihar’s Kishanganj district, is a general-category constituency that was established following the 2008 delimitation. Its electoral boundaries encompass the entirety of the Kochadhaman block, along with specific gram panchayats from the Kishanganj block, including Belwa, Mehangaon, Gachchhpara, Chakla, Daula, and Pichhla. Historically, this seat has consistently been won by Muslim candidates since its inception. Notably, JDU’s Mujahid Alam had previously won the 2014 by-election and successfully defended his position in the 2015 general election.
