A test flight simulation of Air India flight AI 171, which crashed last month, has ruled out flight conditions alone as the sole cause of the accident. The simulation, conducted by Air India pilots as part of the investigation, instead highlighted the potential for dual engine failure. According to the findings, the final flight conditions, such as the extended landing gear and retracted wing flaps, did not independently cause the crash. The focus has now shifted to technical failure, with dual engine failure being considered as a possible scenario. The London-bound Air India plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport on June 12, resulting in the loss of all 242 lives on board. The investigation is being carried out by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, which may release its preliminary findings in the coming days.
