An Air India flight en route from Birmingham to Delhi was diverted to Riyadh on Saturday after receiving a bomb threat. A spokesperson for the airline confirmed the incident on Sunday. The flight, AI114, landed safely in Riyadh and underwent security checks. The diversion comes amidst a backdrop of various disruptions in the aviation sector. Recently, an IndiGo flight experienced a technical issue, leading to its cancellation before takeoff. Furthermore, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Patna was redirected to Varanasi due to adverse weather conditions. Separately, an IndiGo flight from Guwahati to Chennai, carrying 168 passengers, issued a ‘Mayday’ call and made an emergency landing at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport after encountering low fuel. The aircraft had initially attempted a landing in Chennai, but an unstable approach resulted in an aborted landing, necessitating the diversion to Bengaluru.
