The Indian government introduced the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR ID) in 2023, as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This initiative aims to streamline the academic journey for students by providing a digital identifier that links educational records across multiple institutions, both within India and internationally. The APAAR ID is a unique 12-digit code designed to digitally store, manage, and provide access to a student’s academic information, including scorecards, mark sheets, grade sheets, degrees, diplomas, certificates, and co-curricular achievements. This system aims to facilitate smoother transitions between educational stages and institutions, offering significant advantages to students across different educational platforms. To apply for an APAAR ID, several requirements must be met, and the application process involves several steps.
